Foggy Skies, English Channel & The Brighton Pier

Yesterday, a group of us skipped class and headed for Brighton, a cute little town on the coast of England. We started the morning off right with a full breakfast at The Breakfast Club before boarding the train. When we got to the city, we saw the Royal Pavilion (an Indian Palace) and then took a stroll along the boardwalk to the pier where we rode a couple rides, played some arcade games, & grabbed some food. We stopped at a couple pubs in the afternoon for some drinks and then headed to dinner at Jamie Oliver's restaurant, Jamie's Italian where we relaxed and enjoyed ourselves over an awesome meal & some wine. After dinner, we took a walk down to the water, rode the Brighton Wheel, and ended the day with some champagne and a relaxing night in.

This weekend has been so incredible and it is such a blessing to have such awesome friends here in London. I am so glad we were able to take a fun & spontaneous trip to Brighton! I had a blast acting like a kid, eating great food & hanging out with my London family.

Smart People, Old Schools, & Castles

After hearing from several people about Oxford, Emil and I planned a day trip to explore the city. We arrived in Oxford around 2 yesterday afternoon & stopped at a burrito shop for lunch, where Emil had his first burrito. Like, ever. I'm serious. He's never eaten a burrito. I finally got over that fact, we ate our food, drank a beer & headed for the Pitt Rivers Museum. Next, we headed for Christ Church, a college where some pretty famous people have studied, Harry Potter was partly filmed & inspired, and where Lewis Carroll wrote his little story, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. For all you Harry Potter fans, you can read more about it here. We took a break from walking & sightseeing at Art Cafe, a cute cafe that showcases tons of modern art, and then headed to see the Oxford Castle.

For dinner & drinks, we headed to Jericho Tavern and spent a couple hours relaxing, eating & drinking until we decided it was time to find the bus stop & head home. When we got back, it was rainy & cold and we were exhausted but it was all completely worth it & I definitely recommend a day trip to Oxford.
